A Little Bit About The Band

No Fltr is a music project that was never supposed to happen...


Hey, it's David. Hunter and I first met in college in 2019. At that point in our lives, we had both been in and out of a few bands and we bonded over our love of pop music.

At first, we were working towards becoming a songwriting/production duo, writing and producing songs for other artists in New York City.

Though I always dreamed of being on a stage since I was a little kid, after two failed music projects and pressure from my parents to choose a 'stable' work field, (I'm a first generation Pakistani American with immigrant parents.) I finished school and got a job in corporate America. In my spare time, Hunter and I continued to build up our writing and production chops. (Hunter also had compatibility issues with previous bands like I did.)

I think deep down, both of us lacked faith in ourselves which is why we didn't push to put another music project together. But over the two years that we worked together, I always had this nagging sensation that we were meant for more.

Finally, in late 2020, we took a leap of faith and started creating our own music project.

One day, while we were brainstorming band names in Hunter's living room, Hunter's mom overheard us and said:

"How about No Fltr?"


It immediately clicked for the both of us, and we decided to release our music under this name.

What No Fltr Means To Us

We both grew up feeling lonely and like we couldn't be ourselves, as if we were just passengers in our own lives with someone else behind the wheel. No Fltr is us taking back control and carving our own path.

We believe that it's okay to:

  • Love yourself. YOU MATTER. 🤗

  • Put yourself FIRST. 💪🏼

Why We Do This


We want to connect with you because we know how lonely it feels to go through life on your own. Although social media gives us the illusion of being super connected, we as individuals are lonelier than ever. I know I definitely have been.

If our music or words helps someone feel heard and less alone in this world, that's more than enough for us.

Hi y'all! 

I’m the singer, co-songwriter, director/ videographer/ editor, of the duo. If you’ve seen any of our video content, I’m probably the one who edited it. I have 7 cats, 2 younger brothers, and am obsessed with writing songs. Outside of music, I’m a huge anime weeb (nerd), and K-Dramas are my guilty pleasure. I’m so grateful that you took an interest in us as a band and as individuals so thank you for being here.

Hey! 


I’m the producer, co-songwriter, mixing/mastering guy, and meme collector. I help create the stage for Dave’s voice to shine. I am an only child, I like working out, and live and breathe music. I’m in a few bands as a guitarist but I also play a lot of other instruments.
